Skiddle

Where the Music lives.

Task: Skiddle is seeking a modern redesign of their ticketing app that reflects their dominance in nightlife culture. The new design should maintain a dark theme, and a bold, nightlife-ready interface.

To fulfil this design task, I started by asking one simple question: What makes a night out, a night out? The answer is music. Fans let music guide their purchase decisions, so in this redesign, music becomes the navigator. I built the experience around modern design principles familiar to Gen Z users, while introducing new elements Skiddle may not have considered. I integrated a merch store, recognising that artists, DJs, and event organisers are just as much about branding and monetisation as they are about performance. The result is a holistic platform that connects to users’ music libraries to curate tailored event suggestions, while enabling them to support their favourite acts — all within a sleek and intuitive interface.

Strategy

Launch & Integration

Question: With so many players dominating the ticketing industry, how can Skiddle break through and win?

To truly lead the market, Skiddle must view this initiative as more than just a ticketing feature. It should mark the beginning of a complete Artist Commerce Platform. In many ways, it becomes a Shopify for artists. By adopting a plugin-based architecture, Skiddle can connect to users’ music apps and surface relevant events, even when the tickets are not sold on Skiddle. This builds the kind of trust that Songkick has earned with its audience, while also driving traffic to other events listed on the platform. For artists, especially emerging or independent acts, the platform becomes a powerful growth engine. Through partnerships with on-demand merchandise providers like Printful, artists can sell custom products with no upfront costs, no inventory risk, and instant global reach. Skiddle has the opportunity to become the first vertically integrated platform where artists can sell tickets, manage and produce merch, set their own prices, analyse fan data, and monetise their audience in one place. This full-stack approach gives artists greater control and revenue potential, while positioning Skiddle as the central ecosystem for the entire music journey. From discovery to fandom, from live events to commerce, everything happens inside one trusted platform.
